Hello and welcome to Scarlet Blue Calligraphy!

I am a calligrapher based in Mid-Devon, near Exeter, delivering a bespoke calligraphy service across the UK. I am available to address envelopes in calligraphy and to write names on pre-printed invitations, certificates and place cards. Calligraphy lends itself especially well to weddings and occasions that deserve a touch of flamboyance.

I offer a range of calligraphy styles such as Italic, Copperplate, Gothic, Foundation Hand and a Quirky style that is highly suited to less formal occasions.
Please feel free to peruse my site and do not hesitate to contact me if you would like me to flash my nibs over your stationery.

Everybody loves lettering!

    Hello Ms S,
Blogger tells me I’m barred from your blog! I’m bereft.
Is this a glitch or am I banished?

    The perils, the perils!
Trolls are not unknown on art sites. Time-wasting, abusing b******s, but, I think we kind of ask for it. Ironically, attracting the sad and the loony is a badge in the wonky ways of success.
Ha, I’ve reflected that at least some of the folk who’ve bought a piece of mine MUST be mad – they were just barking with money, but ‘thanks’ anyway. Mad is not bad, and what you had, is bad.
Your blog is brilliant, your commenters also – bounce back soon.

    • Hello Kev, sorry for late reply but I am still a little unsettled by recent events.
But, guess what…. I did finish the sculpture thingy!!! Took all of five minutes… give or take a bit of fiddling… just got to figure out the best way to photograph it and think of some pertinent words to go with it.

Oh my God I am still ‘Oh my God-ing’ over this stuff. All this talent and then you hit us with the medieval damn Illuminated caps? SERIOUSLY? With gold leaf??? I am beyond impressed. Truly.
Here’s something that might interest you, in case you aren’t already aware of it…the St. John’s bible which was completed a few years ago:

    • Hello Ms Nations!
Thank you for the link – I like that – a very modern looking use of illumination.
And thank you for the compliments!
